In the early 1980s, the construction laser was established on the Swedish market. The construction laser with its rotating 360-degree horizontal laser plane was revolutionary. Now one person could do the height leveling themselves, instead of two people and an optical leveling instrument as before.

The accuracy was sufficient for most excavation and construction jobs and the construction laser also provided a continuous laser plane that made it possible to do real-time leveling, instead of, for example, looking between levels from time to time, or via leveling instruments.

The laser market expanded strongly during the 1980s and in the early 1990s Sweden was one of the countries with the highest laser density in the world.

The fact that the laser as a work tool was revolutionary and its use took off was also decisive for us.

A question arose about being able to simplify the use of lasers to remove the risk when calculating heights that must be performed constantly. The answer and invention was Z-FIX, an electronic leveling rod.

Our invention, which saw the light of day over 30 years ago, has over the years been manufactured and sold in thousands to satisfied customers and users in Sweden. And why wouldn't they be satisfied, they have probably saved both time and money, and many have therefore invested in many more Z-FIXs.
